Hunter remote - interference problems Mar 19, 2010
This remote suffers from a fatal interference problem, where the light or fan turns on by itself. Wish I had read all the reviews about this problem before I purchased the remote. I changed the default dip switch setting on installation but the problem began the day I installed it. Rather than take down the fan, change the dip switch to a new setting, try again, and repeat over and over until I find a setting with no interference I am going to take the fan down once and install another brand remote. The time it takes to take down the fan and put it back up, simply to reset the dip switches, is too valuable relative to the cost of these things. Take my word for it, if you buy this you will be lucky if you don't wind up taking it back or throwing it out. It is a $40 piece of junk.

This is the unit you want if you want the light to randomly come on any time...day or night. Doesn't matter where you set the dip switches it will come on unexpectedly. Hunter has no solution. Some have been told it's interference from another RF device. Whatever. You don't want to be up turning off the light at 3 am. Happened to me 3 times one night.

Buen producto. Fácil de instalar y practico. Con este son 5 los que hemos comprado para la familia. Vivimos en Cali Colombia y teníamos 5 ventiladores HUNTER así: 4 con el sistema de control remoto antiguo que trabajaba muy pero muy mal y uno que se compro sin control remoto. Con un poco de paciencia pude adaptar fácilmente este control remoto a los que lo tenían sistema antiguo y defectuoso, el otro fue mucho mas fácil. Si a alguien se le ofrece le puedo decir como cambia su viejo sistema a este

Yo recomiendo este producto Buena Calidad Calidad HUNTER.

This item does what it says - controls light and fan, it was easy to install, but I have one serious issue with it.

It does not hold its state when the power is switched on and off at the wall switch. For example, if I set the remote so that the light is on and then turn the light off from the wall switch (a very normal thing to do when you leave the room,) the light will not turn on again when you enter the room and flip the wall switch (also a very normal thing to do). This is very annoying. I have another fan remote and it work correctly, so I know it is possible to build this right.

I just completed installation of a new Hunter Grand Lodge Fan that came with no remote or controls. I purchased this Hunter Control for $49 dollars at Lowes to replace my existing manual 3 speed fan controller. The fan is fantastic runs great and very quiet. This controller should be recalled by Hunter and replaced with a product that works. The local Lowes stated that many returns have come through for this controller. It has all the same issues reported by other light dimming, memory, random light turn on in middle of night, fan running when it wants.

I returned the defective unit to Lowes and traded for Harbor Breeze contol combo pack wich included controller, wall controls, and remote control all for the same $49 dollars at Lowes. This unit works as pefect as the fan. It controls fan speed, fan on and off, light dimming, has light dimming memory, and works from the wall control or remote great with no issues. Maybe Hunter can work out a deal to have Harbor Breeze supply to them LOL!!!
